As mentioned elsewhere we used to visit the Black Horse because they had a large skittle alley and they used to hold dances. Some times they had a disco but mostly they had live bands.

I remember on one occasion, the lead singer was a blonde girl, quite a cracker if my memory is right, anyway I must have been drunk one night because I managed to talk the band into letting me sing (croak more like) with her.
The song was the beatles number " Cant buy me love " it was good whilst it lasted but I never got a second chance and who can blame them, that's why I never sing at Karaoke nights unless they need the place emptied quickly
