This event, like all the rest of the stories you have read are true and not a figment of my or anybody else imagination. So here goes.

A group of us, at least 6, went to what was called the The Manor in Pawlett, this was quite a fancy place for 1965/6. Anyway !! I cannot remember and neither can the rest of the lads, exactly how we managed to get there but getting home was something we will never forget.

The son of the Landlord of the Newmarket: Terry Clare was also there and he offered to give us a lift back to town, now he was there with 4 of his mates so that made 10 of us. Now even in a Ford Zodiac / Zepher it would be hard pushed to get us all in.
Ah!! he had something a lot bigger, it was an American monster of a car, even so he could only get 8 inside so that left two to wonder how they were going to get home. That two was me and Roy Baker, we just had to go for a P**** whilst the rest of them ran to grab their seats. So we ended up in the boot or as the Yanks say "TRUNK "

Actually I still think to this day that Roy and I had the best deal, we were stretched full length, the only thing is, the fingers got a bit sore as we had to hold the boot open for a bit for fresh air.
It wasnt the last time we managed to get a lift with him, but we always made sure we managed to get a seat by not needing a P*** before leaving.
