One of the favorite places in town, was the Slade Room, this was in the back room of the Newmarket Hotel.
The room wasnt very big, so it was ideal for snuggling up to the girls which it what all the boys were there for.
If you managed to score for the night, it was round the back for a squeeze and a kiss but if things were to get a bit hotter then the favorite hidey hole was the Pig Pens in the market.
Now us all being gentlemen, we never told stories out of school about who we managed to get into the Pens, why give another boy the nod when it may be better to keep that knowledge to ourselves for future nights.
Seemingly there was a slade Room Reunion of sorts about three years ago, hope I find out when the next one is.
