Do you remember the Frying Pan cafe at Sparkford ????

well it is now a Little Chef !! bet the foods not as good
as the greasy bacon and eggs we used to chomp on...

I am trying to get some photos of the Frying pan !!!!!

Quite a few of us would drive from town just for the hell of it, hate to say this but I remember going there early hours of the morning after a night in the White Lion - Newmarket or First and Last. My only saving grace was that at that time I didn't have a car and I am sure not going to say who,s car we went in..........

There where a few nights when the girls came along also and on these occasion, food was the last thing on our minds ""

Funny enough, there is a Haynes car museum just across the road from the cafe but it wasn't until 2006, that I finally visited it and then again in 2007 with Alan Salisbury and Jim Allbury..

There is one night that I will never forget when we were driving home from the cafe """ and that is when there was two cars and we were racing each other home.

I was in the front car and the other car was quite a bit behind, anyway we came to a left hand bend and across the road on the bend, was a telegraph pole. We had the great idea of pretending that we had missed the bend and crashed into the pole, we edged the car right up to it, opened all the doors and hung out the sides. Expecting the other car to stop and then we would all jump up and shout surprise surprise ( long before Cilla Black )

Would you know it the B*****S just kept going laughing as they passed.

We never did catch up to them but did we give them hell the next time we met up in the pub...................
