This story was told to me last year (2006) by Malcolm and I know that he and Alan wont mind me telling it.
One early morning when they were passing the Tudor Restaurant in St Mary Street, they saw the vegetables stacked against the wall for the mornings delivery. One of them, neither will admit to who, picked up a big bag of sprouts,

Ah !! they thought, these will go nicely with my Sunday lunch, so off they went to where Malcolm's car had been parked all night and threw the bag into the boot.
Little did they know ( too P****D no doubt) the bag had a hole in it and they had left a trail of sprouts behind them.

During the Sunday Malcolm had a knock at the door and it was the Copper,s. They took Malcolm to where his car was still parked and told him to open the boot.

Malcolm was surprised to say the least as he couldn't remember putting the bag of sprouts in the car but there it was, minus the ones that had left a trail directly to his car.

Malcolm was fined £20 for that bag of sprouts and that was a lot of money in the 60,s. Malcolm also said that to this day, Alan hasn't paid his half of the fine, at today's price, Alan owes Malcolm £350..............

So Alan !!!!

Malcolm said "the next time your home the drinks are on you - on you - on you........." Thats funny "" Sprouts have a habit of repeating themselves also.
